let 'er Buck |
“Let ‘er Buck” is a large inflatable Cowgirl sculpture celebrating the spirit of the “Cowgirl” with generosity and a sense of wonder and pleasure. The panache, independence and self-reliance that was necessary for women who settled the west connects to themes in popular culture. This sculpture pays tribute to the influence the Cowgirl has had on our imaginations. The mobility of my monument sized sculpture offers the possibility of “Let ‘er Buck” appearing in cities and parks as an event in itself conjuring up tall tales and roadside giants. Sponsored in part by Creative Capital.

Skyhi |
I was invited by the Kemper Museum, Kansas City, to propose an outdoor public sculpture for the city. I presented “Skyhi” a 28 foot tower of reinforced fiberglass evoking a column of extravagant, large-scale forms. The translucent blue surface diffuses daylight into a soft glow. At dusk embedded programmed lights convert Skyhi into a column of subtly changing color suggesting water moving over a fountain, anchored by a luminous blue base. The rhythmic light movements flow through the sculpture, underscoring the sense of motion. Skyhi’s visibility at night is designed to add to the resources of a living urban city.
